If you have come to this page, we assume you are interested in becoming a Trade Union Rep for NIPSA Branch 730 in the Belfast Health Trust. A Trade Union is only as strong as its membership allows it to be. In NIPSA Branch 730 if we are to continue to be strong we need our members informed and represented in the local workplace. In order to do that we need work based NIPSA representatives. We understand that people may be reluctant to take on the role of a work place NIPSA Rep, but ultimately, and many of our Reps say this, it is an informative and challenging role. We would also like to assure you that we will support you as much as we can and fully recognise there may be issues that you can’t address and where you need our direct involvement – this isn’t a problem.
If you are thinking of becoming a Rep for your workplace we can offer amongst the following:
- Access to NIPSA and Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) training
- Priority for any Seminars, Conferences and special NIPSA events
- Reasonable time off for Trade Union duties
- Advice and guidance from any one of the Branch Officers
